"The last edition of Modern Theology carries an article by ‘No Werewolves In Theology? Transcendence, Immanence, And Becoming-Divine In Gilles Deleuze‘ by Jacob Sherman. I wish to make a few comments on the contents of the article, its reasoning and the general approach of articles such as this. A brief disclaimer - I am not a Deleuze scholar, "
Not a scholar! Indeed O sir A reader of passion and and and... orchiding bee...
( A writer of our kind! Not a scholar __ I recall that wonderous line in Dialogues... Professor Challenger: avoid the double shame of the scholar... Ah, oui tousjours le paradoxe de doubleture ....

I am gorgias to your gorging ass of gorgeous buttocks flesh to my face billow to my clouding in-ness of earth beg....
"but I think I’ve got a fair grasp of the shape of his thought and the scholarship surrounding it. I have no particular interesting in defending Deleuze, though I am interested, for the sake of pure scholarship in the subjects I am involved with, in people making an attempt to read charitably and understand people’s thought in their own terms before critiquing it. It should be noted that despite what I am about to write, I actually did enjoy the article, it was amusing to see a description of mysticism and drug taking in the pages of Modern Theology, but I am convinced it is wrong on number of counts. It’s nothing personal, its strictly business and it was fun to write this."
(It's never personal!)
Mister Je est un autre continues:
The thesis of the article is thus:
continuings here"This essay adds a theological voice to the current" __ a current in the electric tape! a burning circuit! ___"debate over the legacy of Gilles Deleuze." Doctor Daddio Strikes again!_ the god with a theological fate!__ Saint Deleuze le Mystic! ____ " It discusses Peter Hallward’s charge that Deleuze is best read as a mystical, theophanic philosopher who values creativity to the detriment of real creatures. (!!!!!!)It argues that while Hallward is right to discern a flight from ????????????bodies,????????relations, and ?????????politics in Deleuze, ____this is due not to Deleuze’s contemplative mysticism, but rather to his strident rejection of any transcendence. ____The essay then draws upon Thomas Merton ___ O My God! Thomas Merton! the converted Catholic ! the pulling twogather Christian and Zen! the Resurrected Monk! ____ in order to argue that only a fully contemplative engagement with transcendence allows us to save the sort of radical becoming that Deleuze sought but couldn’t achieve.
Sounds like a grand rebuttal but itself is chalked with ideas of flight. Where does one detect a flight from politics bodies and relations in Doctor Daddio Deleuze? To moi, all flights traverse the versing bodies without organs of the full body wrapped in its carnalities. Concepts percepts affects all varia on the air-planes of consistencies.
